What kind of spark arrestors are on the Proto 2000 SW9 9602? http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/920-41404
Curved.
Thanks for the update [banghead] (lol). I mean can I get them as a separate detail or do I have to make them myself?
Hmm, I know I have seen some spark arrestor detail items around. Those in particular look like they would not be hard to cut from some round tube.
Hey,
I’m not sure if this helps, but on Walthers Site, there is a part from “Cal Scale” called the “Half Round Spark Arrestor” However, it is just a line drawing, & I do not have this part so I cannot speak to it’s quality or level of detail. Here is the link;

Hope this helps a bit…
Are you interested in the Particular Chessie unit or just the spark arresters shown?

SW1200 2 stack can’t find pic of 9602 in SW900

The spark arresters on the Chessie units appear to be rough shop made from curve flat plat and vertical straps. Note they are curved opposite of the pics you provided.

Cal Scale parts that I have purchased in the past have been good quality. They are brass lost wax castings. Cal Scale is now owned by Bowser; this is the catalog page that includes the 439 spark arrestor

Hey guys, thanks. I thought that those spark arrestors were for geeps. I’ll look into them.
