I sometimes feel that Dwarf Alberta Spruce trees just don’t grow.
BUT
here you can see the smaller one gal plants I just installed tonight, and the taller, going on three year old ones that have been trimmed and thinned some…
I find that you don’t “have to” make a forest all at once, each year buy a few plants and watch them grow.[:p]
I’m hoping in a few years this will be a thick , rich forest[:D]
Hey Marty,
As usual…always interesting to see what you are up to. Canadian trees in Nebraska??? Right on. Have a few myself. Haven’t tried the trimming yet. Gonna’ let em’ grow a bit first. Later eh…Brian. [:D]
marty
those tree’s look great on your R R your ideas are allways great .
your like a artist with a blank canvas i allways like seeing your new stuff its a real joy keep it coming!
Thanks, HJ, I have many other trees on the RR. This area I’m wanting a tall pine look mainly for snow shots. This is a full sun HOT area of the RR and I have to watch what goes on here. The ground cover was killed off last year and new stuff will be planted as time goes on. Again I was pleasently suprised to see how much the trees did grow.
Hey Marty those Alberta spruces are real nice . I just planted about 60 of them last week . We trimmed them before we put them in the ground . Gonna go over to Walmart maybe tomorrow and get a couple dozen more . Right now they have a nice selection and their only $3.33 each !
Mike, 60 COOL.
I used to trim them but I lost a few. So after letting them root for a year I found they seem to do better. As I said , there is NO as in 0 shade on this Mt.
HEY, maybe I should name it ,Mt Rene???
Kinda has a "ring " to it.
