Spectrum Decapod Headlight?

Hello,

I have a new spectrum decapod with the tsunami sound and everything seems to work well except the headlight does not come on. Does one need to do anything special to get it to come on. The shortcuts are supposed to be F0 but nothing happens. Would it be worth it to open it up and see if it is shot?

Does anyone know how to get to it without knocking off half the detail?

Thanks

SB

Pull off the boiler front.

Remove the light.

Put the loco on the track and turn on the light.

Take your Multi Meter to see what current is being delivered to the LED socket.

Let us know what you find.

i wonder if it has the same stupid blue light like my spectrum 4-8-2’s. if so, you are probably just as well off without it. and if it does, you will probably want to replace it anyway. i haven’t taken one apart yet but please let me know what you find and how to replace the headlight so it doesn’t look like a sale at K-mart.

It shouldn’t have the blue light, Spectrum quit using that a few years ago. I would contact the manufacturer it it’s a new-out-of-the-box. The light should work on F0 when the engine is going forward.
