What experience are folks having with the Bachmann Spectrum E33C? In particular, how is its pulling power? I’ve been under impressed with Bachmann previously and am looking for feedback before investing.
They are a big heavy engine with 12 wheel drive. Plenty of detail for non-brass. Plenty of pulling power. Close to the weight of the ATLAS U30/33c engines or more. The truck design is the same as the Atlas with the electrical pick up on the ends of the axels and brass plates inside the truck side frames. Some run a little noisy with a growel from the trucks. I am very happy with the one i have. I’ve been looking for another New Haven at a good price.

I have a Spectrum E-33 in NH livery, and it’s a solid runner, very nice looking. It will haul at least a dozen freight cars or eight full length passenger coaches (all I’ve ever put behind it).
One thing, though. The manufacturer may say it can handle 18" curves… and maybe it can. But it derails half of the time.
Very nice. Only 2 issues. One, the bluish-white LED headlights are wrong for the era. ANd the one I had was SO packed with grease it was all over the bottom of the plastic tray the loco was in - luckily it did not get on the body shell. I removed the bottom covers ont he trucks and wiped out most of the grease, and cleaned off the covers and bottom of the box tray, yet after it was back int eh box for a while there was another pool of grease under each truck. Maybe the one I got was made at the end of the dya on a Friday and the grease gun was almost empty so they just dumped it all in there, but it was really badly over-lubed.
The detail was nice, it was easy to install a decoder in, and it ran very well.
