Spectrum N Scale Consolidation w/DCC

Surely someone has one of these locos with decoder installed. Does it still run relatively close to the same speed as your other DCC locos, or did the decoder drop the motor speed drasticly? I have one that with Decoder installed, it takes a full throttle setting of 6(Zephyr) to match the speed of every other DCC loco I have, both diesel and steam. Runs fine on DC. Three decoders, both Lenz & Digitrax and MANY hours later, I’m trying to decide whether to spend any more time fighting this or to just turn it into a cute paper weight, write off Bachmann and just order another Kato Mike.

the speed table values, as well as start and max volt CVs nedd to be set to tune the decoder to the motor, which can bring the running speed up.
also there may be a big difference in voltage to the track between your analog and digital power supplies, most dcc put about 12-15 volts to track at 1-3 amps, while a dc pack could be sending 18-20 volts at anywhere from .7-10 amps. thats a big range.
