got a pair of them today for a great price.they run very well.not to noisey.they came with the 28 step decoder’s installed.im running them using an nce power cab.i tried to adjust the cv’s,specifically cv2 but to no avail.all my other loco’s have nce decoder’s in them.have any of you replaced the bachmann decoder with another manufacture’s decoder? any help is appreciated.thanks.terry…
If the Bachmann locomotives with decoders already installed are like most other models, you should have received an instruction sheet indicating which CVs can be reset on that particular decoder, and whether the programming must be performed on a separate programming track. I don’t own any Bachmann decoders, so I don’t know about resetting CV2, but believe that you should be able to.
Did you try to reset it on a programming track or on the main line? The reason I ask this is because some decoders and some DCC systems don’t support programmed using Operations Mode, so you must use a separate programming track.
