Hi all,
Hope that someone can put me on to an speed control system that will fit my MTH premier diesel with protosound. I have a ps 2.0 steamer with cruise and I guess you could say I’m spoiled. I’ve looked at all the websites that I know of including Digital Dynamics, TAStudios, Dallee and RAMTrack. They all seem to want DCS or TMCC with their systems. I’m operating with a Z-1000 transformer.
Thanks for your help,

You can buy a PS-2 upgrade for diesel locomotive but it will be expensive. You will also need to find someone to download a sound set into the loco (which will require DCS plus the interface cables plus an appropriate sound set). You other option is to gut the loco and install a TAS system with the Engineer on Board speed control.
Well the thing is, I just got this engine last week so I’m not really ready to gut it as yet. I had already looked at the 2.0 upgrade kits but all I need is the cruise to be happy. Surely someone makes this as I’m sure others would buy as well.

Hi James I too was in the same situation that you are in now. I had a real nice Mth challenger engine that did not have speed (cruise control). It would have cost me well over $300. to have proto 2 installed. I sold it and I got a new engine in place for it. I think I would rather have a factory built engine instead of one that is an add on. Here is shot of what I got rid of. Felix[img.nr]http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6da29b3127cce886f972bed4700000016100ActG7Ru0ZsWJg[/img.nr]
James,
I hear ya. I too am spoiled by the cruise control feature. As of now I dont think there is any cheap option available. I’ve been buying some PS-1 engines on e-bay really cheap. So I think I can live without cruise with engines that just cost $100. Hopefully a cruise option will become available that doesnt cost more than the engine you are putting it in. Until then lube the heck out of your engines and tweek the transformer knob to find a nice slow speed for your PS-1 engines.
