I am trying to get the formula or info needed to set up an OS section of track to time train speed for a scale MPH.
I cant seem to find any info on it. Does anyone have anu info?

60 miles/hour * 5280 feet/mile * hour/60 minutes * minute/60 secound = 88 feet/second
In HO, 3.5mm = 1 foot.
88 * 3.5 = 308mm (12 1/8").
So in HO scale, a train traveling 308mm (approximately 1 foot) per second is going 60 scale mph.
speed, time and distance have a linear relationship; thus 2 seconds for 308mm is 30 scale mph.
