Sperry Flour mill Ogden UT

Hi,

I’m a UP fan… I would like to scratchbuild Sperry Flour Mill, located at Ogden UT. It’s a large concrete grain elevator well known to many UP fans (see Don Strack’s “Ogden rails”…). Sperry Flour mill will be the focal point of my future UP industrial layout. As I would like to scratchbuild it in exact H0 scale with prototypical details, I’m looking for original scale drawings and floor plans and pictures as well. Very hard to find… anyone can help me?

Many Thanks

Alex

Four posts is enough. Wait until others have had a chance to see your posts and reply.

I Agree… the system gave me an error, so I tried again… and again… But all four were regularly posted! I’m sorry!!

No problem Alex. This part of the forum isn’t as active as some of the others so it may take a while for you to get an answer. Sorry that I don’t have the information that you need.

The Sperry Flour complex is currently Cereal Food Processors. You could try checking with them http://www.cerealfood.com/ogd.html . Another source might be Don Strack himself, the author of the Ogden Rails book. He runs the Utah rails web site http://utahrails.net/index.php. There are also some photos of it in the Ogden photo pages at http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locThumbs.aspx?id=142223. Some were taken by Tom Stolte, so look for those.

The main elevator is pretty generic, so it shouldn’t be a terribly tough scratchbuild. Good luck.

I sent a mail to Cereal Food Processors last week but I did not have reply. Don said “Sorry, I unable to help you”. I already knew the Ogden section in rrpicturearchives, I just found new interesting pictures however. Many Thanks for notice! You are right, the main elevator is not too difficult, my problem are dimensions of doors and windows on front building and architectural detalis as well.
