It’s Chessie Time !

Nice!

You know, when we moved to the Richmond VA area in 1987 units just like that were still fairly common, although not as pristine. It also wasn’t unusual to see “SCL / L&N” FamilyLines units, and still some units marked L&N only, a rare B&O, also RF&P.

Not anymore though, now it’s all CSX all the time.

The maternal side of my family worked for the B&O and the paternal side were L&N people. When I graduated in “65” I started for the B&O as a fireman while picking up some college what little time allowed. In “66” I went to work for Uncle Sam so that ended my association with the railroad.

Wow. Almost like a mixed-marriage. Obviously it worked out all right. [;)]

Meow.
