I am working on my forest on my layout and i need some spray glue like Wooland scenics, but my hobby shop where i go to is about 35mins away, and i was wondering if i can make my own, and if so can anyone give the instructions?

If you’re making trees, cheap, unscented hairspray works great. Get the stuff in the manual pump bottles: it allows you to pour the stuff from below the pick-up into the next sprayer, so none is wasted, and also gives more control than the aerosol cans.

yea on a car ride its 35mins :D, but still the road there is freakin crazy cars screaming by, thanks for the help

If you’re flocking trees, the cheap, unscented hairspray is the best answer–the WS spray glue takes quite a while to dry, the hairspray works instantly. Just spray the branches, dip the tree in the flock, roll it around a little to get everything covered, shake off the extra flock, and then fix the flock with a second spray of the stuff. You can ‘plant’ the tree in about five minutes.
One of our contributors, Aggrojones did a complete tutorial some years back on how he made his pines out of bamboo dowels, furnace filters, flock and cheapo hairspray. A lot of us on the forum have been doing it ever since, and it’s quick, easy, and you can have a forest in about a day.
I don’t know how old you are, but back when I was a teenager in the late 'fifties and early 'sixties, girls used this stuff on their ‘Beehive’ hairdo’s and let me tell you, it was so strong that if you ‘nuzzled’ their hair, it was like scraping steel wool over your chin, LOL! THAT’S how strong this stuff is!
