St Lawrence Warehouse - Montreal

Hi everyone,

Has anyone built or know of anyone who has built the St Lawrence warehouse in Montreal? It is an iconic Montreal landmark (images attached)

Thanks

Looks like a really neat project!

It would appear from the unusual angles that it was built to maximize the usable space available. That is a scratch builders dream.

I hope doctorwayne chimes in because he has built some excellent buildings very similar to what you want to model. His methods are top notch.

Hi MichaelL

Well that is a very interesting looking building.

Never built anything like that.

I try to stick to simple square or rectangle buildings.

My attempt at an odd shaped one failed so when the courage is up again will try again.

If I was going to given its very large size and odd angles I think my first step after finding enough information would be a foam core board mock up

once the mock up was the right size and shape and reinforced for strength I would overlay the sides building up the details, foam core is cheap enough but I would not want to waste it given the large size that building would be.

I would only open up the windows if in the forground even then I might just stick with paint and acrylic gloss clear for the windows with the frames stuck over it.

Just a few thoughts.
