Thought I’d share a pic. This is of the St. Maries River RR that connects a few small lumber mills around St. Maries, ID to Spokane WA. The mill is totally stranded and all lumber must be shipped by truck to a transload facility. The man in the crane escaped safely.
This ca. ~1909 trestle was not broken through by a train but a boom crane. It was not clear whether or not the trestle would be rebuilt, which could mean the end of this RR.

Here is another fun one, which appears to be right out of the 1950s.

Thanks for the photos. That bridge is somewhat unusual, being flat on one end while the other half is on a 1% grade. This photo shows a train about to enter tunnel 40 at the east end.

Welcome to the forum clarkbar04. And thanks for shareing the pics. I hope they decide to rebuild it.
Dale, Can you explain this paint scheme? I have never seen it before.
Is that a concrete or steel bridge? Kinda odd looking, but interesting none the less.
Wasn 't there a thread on the forum a couple of weeks (or months?) ago that said they were going to rebuild the bridge?
Yep, Potlatch Corp (the wood products company that owns the STMA) announced a few weeks ago that they would rebuild. The talk was that they wanted to fill in much of the trestle, but the Idaho DEQ and the Coeur d’Alene tribe opposed that idea, so instead they will replace the collapsed portion with steel girders.
Wow, they are replacing just the collapsed portion? What’s stopping the rest of that rotten trestle from falling down. Termites are all holding hands?
Duct tape and baling wire![;)]
