St. Paul, Minn., Depot Cam 1

The web cams occasionally wobble when we have high winds coming from Canada or the Mississippi River. We appreciate the feedback and know there are some tweaks we can make in the coming year. -Union Depot

Is the camera on now?

Is there something that I need to do to be able to see these on my iPad. I get the Rochelle cam just fine but the others don’t play - just a black rectangle. Thanks.

This webcam is not live! It’s a loop! Aside from the reefer train not moving…and the sun not moving…watch the parking lot across the river. Every few minutes, the same vehicle is seem pulling in, turning left and parking. Also the same windshield glare on the bridge flashes every few minutes.
So much for LIVE!

They would be nice if the reader could only get them - I have not benn able to for 3 days.

First attempt told me that I need to install AXIS Media ???. To do that I would have to disable the IE pop-up blocker. Did that (against my better judgement), restarted and now the AXIS message doesn’t appear. Of course, the web cam feed doesn’t either.

Let me know when you’ve debugged this.

And now I find that the Rochelle web cam doesn’t work either. Looks like three steps backward. Not making a whole lot of friends for Trains or Union Depot.

These web cams must be like trains, they don’t work very well in cold weather.

The camera in Rochelle IL freezes every 10 minutes, irksom, even when a train is passing through, what is the point of this, also i see background ghostly images that looks like a band playing, other than that it is interesting.

I wish I could connect to the St Paul camera.

how could i locate this view on Google maps.cordinates

I have logged on to both cameras since they have been on the air. I have found both cameras to be “hit or miss” The #1 camera is on line about 50% or the time, but #2 camera is maybe 25%, if that. Take some lessons from the Rochelle, IL folks. Perfect every time. Thanks from Memphis, TN

Is the Rochelle web cam down?

Andy Schulz: May I make a suggestion that may help you and others. Download the Mozilla Firefox browser and make sure your Java program is installed… Both work much better for St. Paul, Rochelle and Cumbers & Toltec Scenic Railroad. I need to use the Internet Explorer browser with the Windows Media Player for the Roanoke, VA site
Hope this helps.

Works fine with IE 11 for me.

(No pop-up blocker disabling required.)

Tom Brown - It looks like the Rochelle cam connection is on a ten minute timer to conserve internet bandwidth. You have to renew the connection.

Raymond I don’t know the cordinates but google Shepard road and Sibley Street. St. Paul, MN that will take you there. The map shows the area during construction of the second level that the tracks now run on Sibley runs under the tracks, look close by the power pole and you can see the traffic lights. Camera #2 is a little to the east.

I am enjoying this cam so very much! I hail from the MSP area and go back home on the EB most years during the summer. I have started watching the EB pull in and leave most evenings from my home in Western Washington.

If you are going to have a webcam you should make sure it works! These cameras are never working or wont upload… TRAINS take this off your site until they get them working right, looks bad for a quality publication!
