Hope I’m in the right forum. Want to incorporate standard gauge into existing “O” gauge layout. . The few standard gauge cars and engines I have are are about 11" in length. Because the standard gauge track is wider, do I have to try to get the widest radius such 72" which I can’t fit into the present layout. Wife will not go along with knocking down another wall.

You can get Standard Gauge track in O-42 diameter curves. There is also dual gauge track but it’s extremely hard to find.
The Standard Gauge equipment you described will do just fine on O42 curves. All of my Standard Gauge operates on O42, since I have limited space for that layout. But even a small Standard Gauge layout is better than no Standard Gauge layout at all. They are GREAT toy trains!
