I’m having trouble trying to find someone who makes the standard paint color (seems like a bluish/greenish) for the “Central Railroad of New Jersey”. I just bought a brand new undecorated Atlas RS3, that I want to make up in the CNJ paint scheme. I checked with Walther’s and Weaver and they don’t make it in their “Scalecoat” brand. I was surprised that they didn’t, because the CNJ was a class 1 railroad. If the CNJ color isn’t manufactured, is there anyone out there who can give me a formula for this blueish/greenish paint? Thanks guys! -artguy
I use TruColor paints exclusively, and I see they list two different CNJ greens.
TCP-232 Central New Jersey Austerity Green
TCP-233 Central New Jersey Deep Sea Green
Mark.
If you want to go with a rattle can spray paint, Krylon Fusion makes a gloss and a satin Hunter Green which is not a bad match for CNJ green.
Dear Mark, thanks for coming to my rescue! I found the paints on Ebay and ordered them. Thanks to you, I fortunately now know that “TruColor” paints exist! It seems as though they make a great railroad paint, for every railroad that existed! Thanks again Mark for solving my CNJ paint problem!!! -artguy
Dear NY fan, thanks for the advice on the Krylon “Hunter green”, but I found out that “TruColor” makes a CNJ paint #'s 232 and #233 (green). Thanks again! -artguy
