Been getting a bit of a dose of the old cabin fever as I’m off sick from work and to prevent myself from doing a “Here’s Johnny!” routine on the family and neighbours I decided to start building a new layout.
I ordered some timber and plywood which has now been delivered. Today I did most of the construction of the new baseboard and have put details of it on my website:-
Just got back from a model railway exhibition. Bought myself some ballast, some cork tiles, adhesive for the tiles and some PVA glue. I’ve already got a good few metres of track and a load of points. I’ll be looking to have a fair bit of track laid this week.
Just to let you all know that I’ve put a new track plan online for Westminster-on-Sea. I was told that my old track plan was “boring” by members of my site’s forum by having an MPD rather than some goods facility so I made some changes. I’ve also done a “proof of concept” for the baseboard by laying some Settrack on the board roughly where I’ll want the loops to go to see whether it’ll fit and there’s a photo of that online too.
I’ve now updated the page about fitting cork tiles with a description on how I did this part of the baseboard construction to complement the photos that are already on the site.
