static grass ?

To anyone smarter then me ; If we are using DC power like batteries to create a current flow, why can’t we use a powerpac from a toy train , or one of the many black boxes in the junk drawer from rechargeable things, They putout a DC current, Or am i missing a important step here??

Yes you can use walwarts (the black boxes you are talking about) The problem however is matching the power output of the walwart to the device your trying to power. The thing is too much power and you burn up the thing your trying to power too little power and you risk burning up the walwart.

Now lets assume your talking about the DIY static grass applicator that was posted recently. The electric flyswatter used in the project was batter powered. A cord might limit your reach. A cord is another step to the build.

If sure you want to use a walwart to power your static grass applicator you need to find one with a charging plug. Then match the walwart to the plug. Then match the voltage and amps to the product you are trying to charge.

Myself I would rather just make one then throw it in a drawer or the trashcan when I’m done with it.

If you look at the other static grass thread there is a link in there that has an article it that cover using wall rats for power. There is also a commercial DVD out there that has step by step building instructions and cover the wall rats and how to figure the electrical requirements
