Station Stop (Pics)

The morning 9:15 arrives at the depot:

As the conductor shouts out “All aboard” passengers begin boarding the train:

you have simply the nicest layout i have ever seen. it even beats the real thomas the tank engine layout.Well done!

… Looks great, man. I have to remember to get a napkin before I open your darn posts…gonna fry the keyboard when I start drooling over your layout… [:P] Darn fine job!

Brian

P.S. I like your simple clouds… what technique did you use?

I forgot to mention that these pics were dedicated to bush9242.

" May I make a request? I would love a few photos of your open end passenger cars. Stopping at the station if you like. Perhaps Wolfman getting on board. Sorry, I know you told us his name, but I am no good at remembering names. Wolfman is easy. I love those old passenger cars."

PS

Looks like “wolfman” has developed quite a fan club!

Bob,

Excellent as always.

Brian:

To create my clouds, I used white shoe polish. I apply it using a sponge over the sky blue backdrop. The best part of using shoe polish is that if you make mistakes, they can be wiped off and reapplied. In addition, the polish leaves a nice “whispy” cloud effect that I really like.

Bob,

I very much appreciate your response. Funny how characters develop, like “wolfman”.

We used to have similar carriages in . A group of eight cars was imported about 1880. Then more similar cars were made locally. I don’t know if they paid Company royalties or just knocked off the design. Some of these survived through to the 1960s and after that were preserved as a Heritage Train. See below a photo I took recently at the museum.

PS. I feel like throttling the turkey who put those reflective strips on the carriagesand ruined the photo!
