Second of all, can you uses them in combination with MOMs.
I’ve read about hare’s. Do other decoders have similar properties–control 4 turnouts and the like? Can you combine them (like consists) for routes?

Yes, EZ track machines are for momentary contact, like Atlas.
Why would you want to use DCC with your mom?
I have a DT400 and 2 UT1s. I can throw the stationary decoders, but the kids can’t.
Most stationary decoders also offer the option of adding a push-button for control.
Small membrane switches have been placed right on the layout next to the turnouts they control by a number of modelers. Wired to the stationary decoders, they offer an option to using the handheld in a DCC environment. The switches could go on a panel also.
