What is the current status of the ex-Missouri Pacific line that ran from Sierra Blanca, TX, to Fort Worth, TX?
Was that line operating under new owner UP and later under UPSP?
According to Ken Fitzgearld’s article in the June issue of Railfan and Railroad this line is running an average of about 20 trains in a 24 hr period…primarily intermodal and merchandise trains…
There’s also a lot of coverage in the August 2002 Trains magazine, pp. 42-65.
That route is definitely alive and well.
With new sidings and CTC.
