A question to one and all. How is coal dust mitigated? I can think of a few ways but they don’t appear all that practical in my mind.
Any idea?
I believe I read about an overhead spray polymer solution, but I may be mistaken.
Correct, Paul. A surfactant can be sprayed by the coal loader company immediately after loading. This is BNSF’s preferred solution.

For new cars why not use a clam shell cover like they do in Europe. And are we really so deficient in resourcefulness that we can’t figure out a way to retrofit one to existing equipment?
