While that may seem short, I’m guessing when they refer to a “day,” it’s working days, not weekends. Therefore, day 150 is 30 weeks, day 305 is 61, and day 485 is 97 weeks, or just under 2 years. I guess that could be pretty quick for a bunch of lawyers.
Andrew, that’s a fair guess, but that’s incorrect. In the case of STB regulations, a day means a calendar day, not a business day, unless specified otherwise. The STB’s rules also generally provide that if a procedural deadline – Day 210, for example – happens to fall on a weekend or federal holiday, then the deadline extends to the weekday immediately following.
