American Civil War was 1861-1865; didn’t begin in 1860. What a lame-oh mistake to make in the midst of the conflict’s sesquicentennial.
Some states had already seceded from the
union in 1860.
Mr. Thoms, it could also be argued that the Civil War did not really end in 1865, although Lee did surrender to Grant. Just look at the discussion in Tulsa regarding whether a founder of the city should be remembered because of his involvement with the KKK.

My girlfriend and I rode this train July 13. No. 17 is one purdy and spotless little loco with a very friendly and helpful staff managing operations in a very professional way, on a historic line that might give you a few goosebumps. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience, including the auto trip through the scenic countryside to and from New Freedom. Get there with your camera and ride it if you can. You can call ahead in the morning to confirm the expected consist. Take your bicycles, too, because you’ll want to ride on the adjacent trail afterward.
