I heard a discussion on ham radio last night about a guy who said he heard a steam locomotive is being rebuilt somewhere in Pennsylvania, with its firebox being modified from burning bituminous coal to burning anthracite. Has anyone heard anything about this? The guy didn’t really know where this was happening, but said it might be a Pennsy’s loco.
Possibly part of the ongoing saga of the PRR K-4 that’s been in intensive care for years now - with no end in sight. Does anyone have a handle on its present status and future prognosis?

There are two projects underway at Steamtown. One a DL&W locomotive which I believe will be for display and a B&M locomotive which is slated for service.
