The History Channel International has a steam train speceial on their Voyages show right now.
It’s on again at 3:00 central time this afternoon.
Try and watch it at 3:00 if you get that channel. That was a really great show. They explained firebox and drive wheel design and how they worked. Talked about articulateds a lot. Lots of Challenger footage. Highly recommended.
I saw it! It was pretty cool and informative, especially the pronounciations of some of the words that are normally only read, like the Mallet. I always thought it sounded like the thing you hit an aggrivating uncooperative steam locomotive with slipping gears that you just bought a week ago and got two days ago and has given you problems ever since and have to send back now even though it is from BLI which I thought would be a superb locomotive but I realize that everything has some sort of problem here and there so hopefully BLI will help me with my problem instead of being pronounced Malleeeyyyyy. (I realize that was a really long run on sentince but I like to go on tangents here and there). It was a good show, I enjoyed it.
Good heads up. They’ve played this a number of times before but it’s worth a repeat. I think I’ll record it this time.
I figured it was a repeat, but I hadn’t seen this one yet.
Dale-I thought the same thing about the Mallet![(-D]
Hey, thanks for the tip. I just set it to record.
I have my VCR set to catch it.
