I took these last night while I was playing withmy ‘‘toys’’ and thought you might get a chuckle from them. My money is on the Diesels

Nice photos…good mood. Yes, this is a no-brainer, I’m afraid. I could only guess at the disparity in tractive effort, but it would be about 6/1 in favour of the diesels. However, the steamer could do a blowdown and clean them diesels up a bit for their trouble.
Now, let’s take a single Niagara S1b and get both trains up to 80mph on the River Route and see who is having more fun. [;)] Even more fair, reduce each train to a single puller and really notice the difference. [(-D]
It was a wise decision on the part of the engine dispatcher to place a steamer in the consist, knowing that the diesels would only break down again.
Steam… I liked that remark. I had to Laugh Out Loud (LOL) when I read it. Thanks Mike
Lets see, double headed consist of say 4000 hp diesels going down hill against a 2-6-2 Prarie? How about a them green frogs meeting a team of challengers, big boys or mallets. That ought to shine the rails, don’t you think? [:)]
Oh, and it is a GREAT picture of some nice modeling! Thanks so much for sharing them.
Best,
Joe
Good smile shot, but it raises a question…
Where are the doubleheaded Y6b’s when you need them???
Chuck (modeling Central Japan in September, 1964)
PLEASE Here is the proof in real life!
My money is on the steam when apples hit apples! LOL
KEEEEEE-RUNCH!!!
I guess they don’t call them carbodies for nothing. [;)] I think the steamer is just mildly annoyed.
Hey Mike, sixteen wheels against six? Why don’t you just pit those EMD’s against Stephenson’s Rocket? [(-D]
A nuther EMD, of course. This one’s bent. [(-D]
Great photo, George.

Haha! I think it’;s a trick question, when everyone says it’s the diesels, you post a photo of 5 out-of-sight big boys behind the freight cars and the steamer![:D]
I thought they were testing how a Concorde style nose would work. [:)]
