I’m travelling through from Boston Logan to Springfield on the 27th for the show on 28th& 29th and have been told of a resturant at the old depot at Palmer MA .I understand its called The Steaming Tender. We could probably do with a break and a bite to eat by the time we get there and do some train watching at the same time .
Just wondering if anyone has heard of it and if its worth the stop???

I also have heard its very good. Its located in the old station at the dimond in Palmer. There are quite a few trains that come thru. There is CSX Boston line (Boston - Albany, NY) NECR (New England Central) 2-3 trains a day. Mass Central use to run in the area not sure if the are around. And 2 Amtrak Vermonters, 2 Train 449 Shoreliner (Chicago -NYC-Boston)

Good stuff - either eat in or take out.
Was there December 30th - being a photog, I got a big plate of chicken tenders to take out and eat while I kept an eye out for the next train - good fries too.
I think they have steak and stuff for eat in.
The inside of the station is beautiful.

Food is excellent. You should allow some extra time to look at the photo collection displayed in the restroom (loo) as well. They will also be at the show on the 28th & 29th and will probably be handing out some discount coupons.
