I’ve been in the ‘Lionel’ box and would like some advice. I’m interested in continuing to build my collection of boxcars the same size as the earlier Postwar Traditional cars like their 3464 and 3472…Do you know if any other manufacturer has a line of similar sized cars? As always, many thanks.
I believe the Atlas Industrial Rail is similar but not sure, you mite check the Atlas “O” site.

I have williams, industrial rail, rugged rails, rail king, and k-line boxcars that are the same size as some postwar boxcars.
When I see a boxcar, or other rolling stock that I like (and want to run with other rolling stock) I’ll check around the store to see if they have something similiar to what I want to run it with, if it looks good then I buy it. I have both scale and non-scale items and I run them intermixed. I recently purchased a C&O Refer from Atlas Trainman series (?) and it is definitely scale, as is the IC Hi-Cube that I bought. I also have a Lionel C&O Refer (thanks Kurt for spending my money) and it is slightly out of scale to the Atlas, but larger than my MPC Hi-Cubes (Atlas Hi-Cube is insanely larger than the MPC Hi-Cubes). However, it is close enough that I can run them together and they look fine.

K-Line made some short boxcars. We have a Pennsy war bonds version. It’s the same size as an Airex boxcar by Lionel.
