Thanks go to Steve & Steve for this report.
I have a copy of the BIG BOY, in my HO Model RailRoad collection, Is is the most beautiful Engine. I bought it while I can afourd it, so some day my grandson Patrick can have it. I also own a copy of the Challenger. Ihope that restoration can be done for future Generations to admire.

Although living in the UK I have always had a passion for the Big Boys, and have managed to see all eight of them. I do recall, in years past, that the available route for a restored Big Boy would be quite small, not only because of track radius but also the lack of turning facilities. At the risk of offending the purists, would it be possible to install some lateral control on a pair of driving wheels, akin to that on the “Madame Queen”, to alleviate the track radius issue? For those interested, the UP Historical Society sell a CD with original Big Boy drawings – I recommend it!
