Stewart DS-6-6-1500

Looking in my 2009 Walthers reference book, I see they have Stewart HO Baldwin DS-6-6-1500’s. On Stewart’s website, I see no mention of this model.

What is a DS-6-6-1500? It would be a 6-axle, right? Is it one of these centercab transfer locomotive jobs?

I think you mean the DRS-6-6-1500. This loco was the predecessor to the AS-616. Baldwin manufactured 82 DRS-6-6-1500s.

Stewart could use the AS-616 chassis to do a DRS-6-6-1500. The carbody is somewhat similar too, but I believe the radiator grille is lower down and the corners of the hood are sharper like a DRS-4-4-1000.

Thanks.

I’ve got one VO-1000 that I tried to paint - but it didn’t turn out all that well so I may consider doing some kitbashing to make a transfer engine.
