Stewart S12 @ Bowser VO1000

Hello,

I have been looking at the VO1000 sound chassis from Bowser but I think the VO1000 is longer than the S12. Did Bowser get this right when they made their sound VO1000? I am wanting to put this chassis under a Stewart S12 body but know I think it may not work. If you have these does the VO have a diiferent chassis than the S12.

Thanks

SB

Send an email to Bowser. They have answered me when I had a question.

I had the same thought, but I asked Stewart previously and they said “it wouldn’t fit!”. I have three VO1000’s (two are first run VO1000’s with Lok-Sound installed… and I have just received their new Executive Line Great Northern VO1000 (painted black with # 5332) with Tsunami sound installed.

The new one’s is another great addition to my fleet. My other GN’s are in the Empire Builder paint scheme… but I’m trying to decide which sound I like the best (Tsunami or Lok-Sound… they are pretty close in sound quality so far)

The VO1000 is a longer engine than the S12. They ran on different length underframes and had different size engines, the VO1000 had more cylinders.

Thanks for the posts guys that is what I was afraid of. I bet the sound would not be accurate either since the S12 was supercharged and the VO was normally aspirated. Well I’ll have to find an older Santa Fe or Missouri Pacific to put above it.

Does anyone make a decent sound file of the 606A?

Thanks

SB

SoundTraxx Tsunami comes in sounds for both the 608NA and the 608A Turbo…
