Atlas are, if not the pioneer, a strong advocate for the “Build to order” production theory. Unless you can find a store that ordered extra for their own stock you are unlikely to find one. I made the mistake of wanting one of their Trainmasters in the gold version a few months after its release and never was able to find it. I did eventually locate a silver one (without DCC and sound) and will retrofit a sound decoder.
Part of the problem is that production runs are getting to the point of meeting just the pre-orders and a few units more, no more.
Check the Walther’s Web site for this engine, there should be a listing of dealers that recieved this item in the past, usually these listings will have an email address or a contact. A few hours worth of phone calls or emailing with a diplomatic explaination of your situation and questions such as availibility, pricing, shipping and if they knew of any other places that might have a copy.
Eventually within a day or two you might get a few emails back stating hard oppertunities to get a copy. I have managed to find a few engines this way. Some hobby shops might still have a copy and be willing to ship it to you after arranging the payment by credit card or similar over the phone so the MR Listings of hobby shops is a good place as well.
I think that these are very good units and we all always need a switcher.
It seems like a lot to deal with at first seeing 40+ names or contacts to work, breaking this up to about 10 per day you can “Hit” 50 seperate places and people within 5 working days and have enough actionable data to make a decision.

If being prototypically correct is important to you, stay away from the SP MP15s. Altas does not have SP’s light package on them.
