Storm damage produces possible new scenery material

The Sunday storm ripped about 20 shingles off my house.[:0] As I looked at the speckled brown color of a piece of shingle in my hand I thought, “This might look good in some spots on my layout!” [:p] I remembered that in my last house the shingles were speckled green and I had planned to experiment with them. [^] In the move, however, I decided that I had too much junk to take as it was.[xx(]
Have any of you tried to use roof shingles for certain spots on your layout? If so what colors did you use, where and how? Did you like the results? What problems did you encounter? What procedures would you recommend? Would you recommend that others try it?[?]

I don’t know of any uses for the shingle off hand, but I hope somebody suggests something clever. That would be a great way of taking life’s lemons and making a little bit of lemonade.

Personally, I’m holding out for the wind to drop a shipping container full of Atlas locomotives in my back yard…

There is always a silver lining, huh? [:)]
I can’t think of much use unless you could cru***hem and use the rock for scenery…?
p.s. I would come help you reshingle but Alaska is a long way away.

I was thinking morre like laying in flat and cover it with additional ground foam.
