Strange postwar style maddison cars

The cars are olive green and say Union pacific. They dont have opperating knuckle couplers Their numbers are 2363, 2365, 2364, 2362. Were these cars made during the MPC era? I dont see them in my postwar books.

If they have four wheel trucks, and non-operating once piece couplers screwed into the underside, they might be early MPC 9500 seris cars that were custom painted.

These cars came ith way from their first issue (1973), until 1977. They were changed to six wheel metal trucks and operating couplers in 1978.

To my knowledge no special runs of these cars were made by MPC from 73 to 77.

I think they may be Williams cars:

Look under the cars for the “WilliamS” name.

Yes, sounds like early Williams.

lionelsoni, They look exectly like that picture but dont say williams anywhere on them.

Sure enough, I just looked at one of my older Williams cars; and it’s not stamped like the newer ones are.

Definitely Williams. The non-operating couplers gives them away as early Williams production.
