I am toying around with the idea of using stub turnouts for my next layout. I haven’t thought about this completely, but is there something special about the wiring of such a turnout? Are there DCC issues? If it is too big a hassle then I’ll put that idea on the back burner. - Nevin
Unless you’re going to model a very early railroad or backwoods shortline, stub switches would not have been used. The only wiring issue with stub switches would be the frog area and whether it is insulated or not.
I model late 1800s and I have all hand laid stubs, including three way and no issues with wiring. I set it up some years ago using DC and now I use the NCE Power Cab. Comercial stubs are available.

The V&T had stub switches up to the day it was recycled. - Nevin
kcs still uses stub switches
Indeed they do my young friend, but mostly on branch lines.
‘STUB’ switches suggest ‘hand laid’ or custom made. As such they probably are not DCC ready - until you isolate the frog.
No big deal to do with a demel tool, but necessary - then there’s the possibility that some locomotives will stall over dead frogs.
