Stuff that a model railroader never says

Here are some of my thoughts

I spend more time running my trains than building my layout.

Going to the Timonium Train show is a waste of time, I almost never find anything that I am interested in.

Who is John Allen?

I would work on my layout, but there is too much good stuff to watch on TV.

50 miles is too far to drive to a hobby shop.

Please add your thoughts

How about:

“I have enough stuff.”

“There is no need for anybody to try to build a better model ___________ .” (fill in the blank)

“That guy’s preferences & priorities are EXACTLY the same as mine.”

“Your mother could move in with us if I took down my layout.”

“When I retire, I want a small house with no basement, garage or attic to worry about.”

“My model railroading dollar seems to buy more every year.”

LOL, Mr. B!

I have waaaay too much room for my layout.

I really should get ready for the ops session I’m hosting tonight, hon, but I’d rather watch (fill in the blank for your least favourite TV programme) CSI clones and other cops an’ bad guys shows____ with you…'kay?

It’s okay, the soldering iron tip should be cool by now.

Here’s some more stuff

What’s so great about Horseshoe curve?

Why do some model railroaders buy topographical maps of West Virginia?

Every steam locomotive I want for my layout is on the market.

I never heard of the Franklin and South Manchester layout.

When Model Railroader arrives I always mistake it for junk mail.

I built my layout so my cat(s) have something to play with.

C’mon keep it coming

Gee! I wish I had

a smaller layout!

Less cars

Less Engines

Less Friends to come run on my layout

More Scenery

That’s what you SHOULD never say. Unfortunately, I have said it.[sigh]

Paul

John Allens final layout wasn’t very impressive The wife said for my next layout I could use the entire living room My mother in law gave me a scratchbuilt boxcar she made herself

Derailing my trains are always fun!

I’d rather cut the grass than work on the layout.

I’ve lost interest because I’ve learned everything there is to know about the hobby and I’ve mastered all the techniques.

When I work on a tough kit I’m so thankful that I’m so patient and never get frustrated.

Thank goodness I’ve never made a mistake on the layout.

There are so many good hobby shops nearby that it’s hard to decide which one to visit.

I’m done.

Wish I had used EZ track.

Wish I could have made the curves tighter.

No one will ever notice.

I don’t understand why Rod Stewart, the big rock star, would go to Peabody MA to visit a nobody named George Sellios

I like that particular model, its cute! [sigh]

I really wish somebody would do another F unit! [%-)]

[While stopped at a railroad crossing] “Ugh, this stupid train is taking FOREVER! Move faster already!”

“There are too many hobby shops.”

“This brick and morter hobby shop ROCKS! Everything is 25% off retail price!”

“Ballasting is fun!”

“My layout is finally 100% FINISHED!”

“MTH is the greatest thing for scale model railroading since nickle silver track came out!”

Gee where did the time go it seems like I just came down here and I didn’t get anything done tonight.

Don’t worry honey its got a beautiful basement with 5 rooms above it and its in our price range.

What do you mean by have I been chasing trains again, and no I wasn’t any where near the hobby shop and no

I didn’t leave anthing in the garage!

Yes dear the train club meeting ran over again, was I running trains at Jon’s house again all this time? Jim.

When I heard the diesel horn early in the morning, I think it’s ruining the silence.

I have plenty of Amtrak diesels and coaches.

When is the commemorative model of 4014 coming out?

Whaddya mean WHICH 4014???\

Chuck (Modeling Central Japan in September, 1964 - without Big Boys)

Whats that honey, Downton Abbey is on? Let me switch off the trains & I’ll be right there.[(-D]

“That’s my Porsche.”
