Stupid question.

I picked up a cool little trainset at a train show and was needing a little info.It looks to be a French co.,Jouef.The set is Decatuerville. It was missing some track but it runs OK on N.I think its HO scale and N gauge.I know stupid question. What scale is it and can anyone point me in the direction to find more products in this scale/ga.The loco is a small steam engine and works great.Im going to use it as a amusement park train on my HO layout.

Not a stupid question at all. If I remember correctly, Rivarossi used to produce an HO-metre guage series of trains that ran on N scale track. I think it was called HO2-1/2. They were basically French and European industrial models, quite possibly manufactured by Jouef. I even picked up a couple of dump cars to use on some N scale mining track on my first Yuba River Sub (unfortunately, they disappeared during the tear-up).

I haven’t seen them available in years, but it’s neat that you found a set. If you’re in HO, they’ll make a great little industrial or mining set-up for you.

Jouef was a French manufacturer that was purchased by Lima, and is now owned by Hornby. Their online catalog is here: http://www.hornbyinternational.com/ProductList.aspx?bid=1

There’s also a website devoted to their history, and they list locos and sets. http://www.joueftrains.com/

It sounds like your set is HOn3. AHM did have a set of HOn3 Minitrains in the early 70’s, but I don’t think they were manufactured by Jouef.
