Just checking back in after a week but it’s
still not working for me
also the Quote feature is not working
Finally got a reply from the MR staff asking what operating system and browser I’m using
all of which i included in my first email
It’s like they didn’t read my email ???
So of course i restated the whole email
then hit reply and got the canned acknowledgement
so now waiting
Question is >
Is any one else having problems with these features
or is it just me ?

That’s because the problem is on your end, and we can’t diagnose it from our end.
Some ideas:
– Update your browser.
– Use a different browser.
– Clear your cookies and cache.
– Make sure you’re logged in properly by logging out and in again.

I’m running the latest version of Fire fox
And have cleared Cookies
Logged in and out 3 times
But still no good
From the prior posts looks like i’m not the only one
having problems
So Shopcat has a problem on his end also?
Every thing else works just these 2 functions are bad
Try a different browser. That’s all I can suggest. Since most users aren’t experiencing your problem, there’s nothing on our end that we can fix.
What makes me wonder is i’ve been using the forum for years with Firedox
no proiblem till 3 weeks ago
and why only these 2 functions ???

Firefox, Java and MRR Do not mix very well…check that You’re Java is up to date. Even then it is hit or miss. Had the same problem couple yrs. ago on all CS.Trains sites with Firefox, but on other sites it would work fine…except for the freezing…got rid of it… Chrome plays very well with all CS. Train sites…always.

Google has way too much spy ware for my taste

Yes I have used Firefox on a lot of sites also and everything worked fine for awhile, then things started going crazy…could not get the quote to work no matter what I did. Then some other functions did the same thing…then it would freeze up, on not only this site.
I have no problem with Chrome on any site and the spyware is not an issue for Me. My anti-virus/spyware takes care of that…but I do pay for it every year, It makes Me invisible when I am on the internet.

It’s not just you.
After many failed attempts to get the system to recognize me, I was able to confirm that unless I selected “Keep me logged in”, the system recognized my account log in information, but didn’t recognize me as a subscriber.
I find it amazing that they would fall back on the old “must be your browser” story when, not that long ago, they posted an item in the forums stating they knew they had problems.
I still can’t get the system to recognize me as a subscriber unless I use the “Keep me logged in” box.
I shouldn’t have to do that. The reason it’s a box that can be checked or unchecked is that it’s a choice you should be able to make.
You shouldn’t have to select it to get their system to do what it should.
And, just for the record, I’m using the latest version of Firefox. It’s set to clear cache on closing. I also run CCleaner to clear cache and logging out and back in again does nothing.
One thing I neglected to mention.
While I was trying to figure out what was going on with the login, tried it on a Samsung tablet. That’s an Android operating system running Chrome.
Same thing.
I called a friend who does software evaluation using a PC and MAC.
He had exactly th same issues running Chrome on a PC.
I think that covers the “try another browser” suggestion.

As often is the case it’s easiest to blame the user rather than try to diagnose the problem
I understand the fourn is not the primary function of the MR staff and is just a free service
but still it should function on any of the main browsers IE Chrome or Fire Fox
I’ll try checking the box as you suggest[Y]

Since you mentioned that you’d try checking the box, I thought I’d take a moment to explain exactly what was happening with my log in problems.
Their system knew if I mistyped something. It would come back with a meassge saying I’d entered incorrect information.
But once I was logged in, I didn’t get the “Welcome” message and I couldn’t access subscriber-only content.
So, it was as if there are two functions.
One to recognize the log in as being valid, the other to recognize someone as a subscriber.
It was the subscriber part that wouldn’t work unless I checked the box.
After that, I set up a screen name for the forums. It accepted everything, but I couldn’t post.
A call to customer service resolved that one quickly and it’s been fine since.
But, I still have to check the box to be recognized as a subscriber.
It’s a workaround, but that box should be your choice. You shouldn’t have to check it just to complete the login properly.
May be just me but if this site won’t work with Fire fox The admin should fix it so it will
I use Fire Fox, and the quote feature doesn’t work, and the drop-down menues/boxes don’t work either. They do in IE. As far as logging in, no problem until early this am. Called customer support, and they couldn’t log in either, and told me they were contacting the tech. dept., and to try later, and said “something is going on here that is not on your end”. Now, this pm, when I logged in, it worked.
Fire Fox is to date, Java is to date, and my system is Windows 7, Professional, with IE 8.
