Suggestion for Beginner?

Hello everyone,
At first I want to introduce myself.I’m Kaan Burak, from TURKEY.I have being collect some classic diecast cars for 5 years. I would like to start collecting O scale steam engine for on display stand on my work desk,so I don’t think to make long term and ever growing layout.However it would be nice to see working some features on engine, when I while working on my desk(light,steam,bell ring etc…) and I need some advices for about dcs controller.

If I buy DCS remote commander with z500 transformer which is following link , is that working premier engines and newer engines of Lionel series, also HO dcc engines ? I will use only 1 locos each time ,while a displaying on wooden base stand as you knew that.

Which I need track part of connecting for controller? I don’t know name which is track part.

(Note: I decided 3-rail track, by the way)

Hello Kaan, the DCS commander is only good for MTH trains! I am not sure if it will do DCC in H.O. but I do not think it will. If you want to run Lionel trains in command mode you must have a Lionel Lioncheif or Legacy unit from Lionel. Also Lionel Legacy won’t work on MTH PS-2 or PS-3 engines, has to be MTH DCS.

As for track connector; what track are you using? Lionel Fastrack or tubular? The connectors are different for each style of track.
