Currently, when a new post is submitted, a page appears with the following info:

Thank you. Your message has been posted successfully!

Return to the thread>>

This page is of no value and should be eliminated. The page should return to the thread at the page position of the new post after the ‘Submit’ button is pressed. I have DSL, but my internet connection is still slow.

Earl…I don’t think it is your internet connection or DSL. I have experienced mega slowness on this site, but only at night and only sometimes, always after about 10:30PM Eastern time. By slowness, I mean that things that other times of the day take a couple of seconds can take up to several minutes. Many others have commented the same.

While I agree with you about the useless page, I do not experience the slowdown that you describe.

For whatever it is worth, I have seen the forum slow down in the evenings, frequently between 9:30 pm and midnight CST.

I’ve assumed that some sort of maintenance is being done somehwere that causes the slow down.

Just until recently things seemed fine. Now it is definitely slowsville in the later evenings. But who knows, maybe a critical tower got wiped out in a storm, though usually there are runarounds to reduce the impact.

I experience slowdowns in the evening also. I figure it’s either maintenance or a ton of people cruisin the site.

I am getting older so I use the extra time it takes when it slows down to nap! [:-^]
