Sunday Photo Fun 01/21/07

Have fun

Jim

I’ve had the Lionel Chessie GP30 for over a year. About two weeks after I received it, the cruise control went bad. I sent it to Lionel and now under heavy use pulling the Ohio Central Cars, it has run like a champ. The smoke unit works and the Railsounds are great.

Look at the air hose on the steel coil car. A great detailed car.

My newest addition, The Hard Rock Cafe…Lookin down main St…

Great Pics! Very niceHard Rock addition!

Sturgeon-Phish,

I recently saw the retracting cow on the tracks on the I Love Toy Trains video…

Another favorite operating accessory!

Kurt

Great Photo’s!! My contribution:

My new railway station in building phase. It’s roughly based on a real life Union station. I’m wondering if you know which one…

From another angle…

Seen from the parking area… I’m modelling the front facade of the building, which is in real life not on the trains side. The shelter roof of the real construction needs to be above the first track on my layout and the building will be lit later on.

This is the prototype… Denver Union station. That’s why I need the neon letters…

Some nice shots of my K-line mp15 in the canyon…

And the gp38-2 in the desert + E44 in the union station area…

The city will be around the union station, I’m planning a trestle on the part where the city originally was planned… (all in a 9x5 feet area)… The Unio9n station is 3 feet wide and 1 1/2 feet high by the way…

After watching the Barrett-Jackson Auction last night we had to pull out this one!

Can anyone ID the wagon ?

oldie but a goodie

Tom…Is that a 1958 Edsel ?

Daan…That is going to be a great looking Station.

Chuck

58 Edsel is right I think, the front would really give it away!

Yep -It didn’t take you guys very long on that one !

tom

More specificly I think, a '58 Edsel Commuter station wagon. I think I’ve seen more of those unique tail lights on modified cars than I’ve seen original Edsel Commuters. Nice pics all! Love that old AF stuff too! I recognize a few pieces of it for my very first train set…in particular the first station pictured. All I have left to remember my old AF days is a telephone booth.

Very nice pics, everyone!
Sturgeon-Phish - I love the shots of your AF layout with the accessories!
Daan - Nice start on your Union Station!

Well you got old cars, but you got any old trucks? LOL

How old do you want? Some of these are Steam powered !

I was thinkin along the lines of a 55 Chevy or a 48 Ford.

Extra 6604 and accompanying C&O consist are visiting from the South Branch Valley Railroad today. It sure was nice of SA tower to stage a local for this runby.

…unfortunately for the crew of the Chessie GP30, they sat so long they were outlawed. But, our nighttime photo runby had an extra prop, so all was not lost.

Picked up this pretty little Palomino at the antique toy show yesterday. The old gal selling it thought it may be Britains, until I showed her “JAPA” stamped on the underbelly between the 2 front legs. The brass chain bridle runs thru the bit area, and the metal figure appears to be close to standard 54mm size. Any clues out there as to whom may have manufactured this and when? I understand that anything made in Japan during post WWII occupation (1947-49) tends to be worth some money.

fifedog, your layout looks amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one done with snow scenes like that for a permanent layout…

The river under the viaducts is a very realistic touch too, and that track layout looks very prototypical… Basically, I see nothing toylike about the picture… If I didn’t know better, I’d think it was real! Great job.

fifedog,

That has to be THE BEST winter scene I’ve ever seen executed on a layout. Fantastic work! Take it from a Canadian…we know SNOW! [bow]

Great pics everybody!

fifedog Great night shot!

daan The station looks great! What kind of wood do you use?

spankybird Those are some old trucks!!! Haven’t seen any steam powered ones in a while.
