Phish - I have a confession: Were I a child of the 50’s, I would have preferred AMERICAN FLYER.

I recently finished widening my layout to 80" so it would accept 072 curves. It is a 14’ x 16’ L shaped layout.

I am using the Lionel Fastrack on the layout. So far I’ve got two of the three loops I will be using. I have the track I just need to get it all in place.

Below are a few pics of the layout and the new Legacy 4-6-6-4 Western Maryland Challenger I just got. Also a pic of the Rio Grande I bought a year ago. It is a standard Lionel engine.

This is where I extended the layout another 6’

I widened the existing layout 4" on each side to make a total of 8" wider than it was.

This is what it looks like with paint. I got relly tired of looking at pink and blue foam.

Another shot from the inside corner.

This is the 14’ side of the layout. I have since put a support under the track that is running across the open area of the return loop.

This shot is from the 16’ side.

The Rio Grande on the inside loop.

The Western Maryland on the outside loop.

Another picture of the Challenger.

Bill54 … beautiful engine ! Layout’s looking good buddy … that shelf in the backround with all those boxes makes me think the train may be alot longer in the future than you posted now .

Fifedog … I’ve been racking my brain everyday trying to remember which A-Flyer engine I had when I was a kid … can’t for the life of me … I’d love to get another just like it . My dad took it and sold it when I was’nt looking way back then … [|(] … worked on farms to buy all the cars and track and accessories for $2.00 a week … no … we were’nt close . [:(] I think it was a 2-4- something … with white walls I called them drive wheels … [%-)]

I’m not the dawg but if you can recognize your engine you can probably find it here:

Fife,

There is absolutely no reason that you can’t still be a child of the 50’s. Look at all the fun you could have.

And this is just for starters.
