I can’t remember if I’ve shared these or not. It is my layout with the 790 Trainarama in the background.

The newest addition to the roster makes it’s debut, here it is hauling a consist of cylindrical and center flow hoppers up the transition line from lower level to upper level. A CSX freight is holding for clearance.

Here it is a the top of the transition entering the upper level main.

In an effort to address safety I have taken measures to prevent possible eye injuries when using the Cab-1 during crowded operations. In the background is the CSX.

Everyone play safe and enjoy there toys. [:o)]

Was up in Lexington today, and caught RJ Corman’s new steam engine out in the afternoon sun. Conveniently enough, it was parked such that anyone who so desired could get a nice 3/4 shot without crossing the “No Trespassing” lines.

Yesterday’s Derby Train, a pair of FP-7s pulling a dozen or so aluminum streamliners, was also parked nearby, but I wasn’t able to get a good photograph of it short of venturing into the yard(which I most certainly wasn’t going to do).

Thanks to those who took the time to post pics this week.

Phish - does the conductor on that caboose swing out like on the modern MTH version?

Dougnotta - Chessie GP15 sure looks sweet, but the clown is kinda creepy…plus, you’re just loading both barrells for his honor…

ben10ben - from the pics I’ve seen of RJ CORMAN, they are definitely a classy regional that takes a lot of pride in their image.

Yes, it is illuminated and when the track is powered a coil activates and the man retracts, when power is off he swings out. There was another version called the “Fat man” he was plastic and “rounded” where this one is painted metal and flat.

Wow another slow day on Photo Fun…

Well, here are a few progress photos of the control panel…sorry, no trains yet. I needed a break from the wiring, as my eyes are getting a little buggy.

I have very little space, and needed to cram all the switch, and UCS, and other controls into a small space. The origional Lionel controllers were just too large.

  1. SPDT for the switch controls, with red/green LEDs.
  2. DPDT for the block controls. I wanted the LEDs to be illuminate at a constant voltage, when I run conventional, so I will power them with the switch power. The bottom throw will not be wired. (off position)
  3. SPST (2) for the UCS, but only one side of the UCS + the electromagnate uncoupler will operate.

I needed to double lug the supply wires, cramped for space. The right side LED resistors will be soldered to a ground wire.

Nice pics everybody - Buckeye, your Amtrak train is much too clean, believe me I watch one every day and I’m not sure there is any metal under some of the dirt!

Kurt - looks pretty outstanding to me, great work maestro!
