Here are some Pics of a Lionel #773, 2 rail DC.

Remember our Vets!

Here is a little surprise that I picked up at the LHS yesterday. I thought this was not shipping from Lionel until August. It would appear that I am not the only one who photographed the latest arrival. Phish, do you own everything Flyer made? You have really nice trains and accessories. Great pics as always Spanky.

Love the Display!!!

Would you be able to get me a frontal shot of the AF display please. I would like to try and reproduce sometheng like it, and while I’m asking what are the overall deminsions?

Jim

Hi Jim,

The next time I see the owner of it, I will ask him, but it may be a few weeks before I see him again.

Spankybird, that 773 is just awesome!

Thanks for sharing!

Kurt

I was able yesterday to see RJ Corman’s Class QJ Steam locomotive under steam when it made its inaugural run pulling a sand train from Louisville to Lexington.

The locomotive was originally scheduled to stop in downtown Frankfort yesterday for 30 minutes to take on water, but a CSX freight delayed everything about an hour. Still, though, they were nice enough to stop for about 10 minutes, and I was able to get some great pictures.

Sturgeon-Phish,

What kind of lighting are you using for your inventory photos.

I’m planning on doing the same for my collection.

Also are you using a tripod?

By the way, I have always liked the auto transporter car, might have to get one of those some day.

Hey guys, just a few pics from earlier today…

PS - great pics guys, esp that 1:1 model, does it use Legacy?

Sorry Jim, strictly conventional . [(-D]

Carl

The room has compact fluorscents in an overhead fixture and I use a pole lamp with 3 adjustable incandesent floods and a desk lamp with an incandesent lamp in it. Thse I adjust around till I get the shadows under control. The background is one of those cardboard backdrops like you use for science fair projects and it is sitting on a white piece of 1/4" foamboard. I use a tripod and sometimes use a flash and sometimes not. I am just begining to work with the picture taking techniques.

The transporter is a neat car. Fairly rare, especially ones without broken trailers. I need to replace / repair one of the cars in the transporter as it is missing the front wheels.

Jim,

Thank you for posting the photo of your “studio”,and for the lighting ideas.

Your tips will be a great help to me for my inventory.

Thanks so much!

Carl T.

PS,you have a magnificent Flyer collection,and layout!

Thanks for the compliment. I like sharing about the hobby and especialy American Flyer.

As you see my studio is low tech and low budget. Why I’m still learing what the camera can do and editing techniques
