Jim

Good Morning folks,

Looks like there is lots of activity in Flyerville this morning Jim - It must be folks getting up and going so they can hear your Pentecost homily. Nice to see folks up and about on a beautiful Sunday morning. We have way too many granduation parties and family celebrations at this time of the year for there to be any stories coming out of the Blueboard Central Division of American Flyer Lines, so today’s offering will just be a few trackside shots around town. I hope you enjoy…

The most beautiful highcube boxcar from Baltimore, Maryland rides the rails behind stunning Lionel Chessie GP30s on the Baltimore, Ohio and Wabash Railroad. (Don’t ya think the paint is better than that Black and White stuff on the Chief’s old and decrepid locomotives that hardly run and jump the track.)

Busy morning at the local brewery as an Iron City Beer pulls in to unload as the Coors Silver Bullet waits its turn.

Great shots everyone! Here are a few shots of 3rd Rail’s Anniversary Series Northern Pacific Z-5…

How long dose it take a boxcar of Red Stripe to travel from Jamaica? [:D]

Great pictures everyone. Highrailjon, I love my simple prewar stuff, but that monster steamer of yours must be amazing to see in person. Still rewiring my layout, so here’s a recycled pic…

Great pics everyone. Here is a few from Strasburg area last weekend.

From the NTTM

WOW, the Northern Pacific Z-5 is super, great pictures Jon.

How long dose it take a boxcar of Red Stripe to travel from Jamaica?

LOL, maybe ocean going rail barges, Jamican rum and beer.

Great pic’s everyone!! Here is a few from my youngest daughter, Lyndsay Nicole Blair’s 5th B-day!

Some family were visiting so things had to be cleaned up a bit… it was a good time to take a few “State of the Railroad Table - Spring 2009” shots! Need to put some items on the counter at Swanson’s… photos catch things like that! Nice photos here already… Mingee, what a locomotive highrailjon has! It would probably warp my table along with filling up half the main line!

Great pics everyone! Spankybird, are those vehicles from the Match-box, CARS OF YESTERYEAR series? Was under my layout today wiring my latest track plan and realized I built the frame 05/29/2008 and still don’t have any trains running on a regular basis! Got to quit horsing around, choose a track plan and GETER DONE!

Terrorists attack the Lionel Lines - Mass Destruction:

The blue steel bridge…

Yes these cars are Matchbox, Models of Yesteryear. I have had them for several years now.

Lionel 763-E shaking out the cobwebs earlier this year.

The management of the Ping Pong Plains division of the Katy Central has had concerns about terrorist activity. They contacted the government, and surprisingly, got results:

Three new arrivals being moved around by old #600. A study in forced prospective. Sorry about the focus, I confused the autofocus system somehow.

Yesterday we ended up in kind of a artsy part of old west Des Moines, lots of shops (Mom & Pop) with unique gifts. Also quaint coffee shops/bars/bistros, etc. While talking with one of the co owners he showed us Christmas ornaments that are quite unique. They are mouth blown ornaments that are painted from the inside out, yes, you read that right – unbelievable! It’s called Ne Qwa Art, it’s centuries old and originated in China. It’s still down by hand and often times it takes one week to produce one bulb, they are about 6" in length. The Christmas scenes are just awesome and in some cases have become collectors items.

I did happen to see one that caught me eye “Wabash Cannonball”, I now have my first Christmas present that will soon go into seculsion until December 24, thought you might enjoy a sneak preview. I apologize about the photography, it’s certainly C- work but I think you’ll get the idea.
