Great pics Tom. The big brother to your BL2 is only a few miles from my house.

Up first is my greatest find, it is in awesome condition, came with boxes and cost only $75.00
Today we also have an airshow going on at the local airport.

I’ve got the hand car that came with my Hobos Ridin’ the Rails train set that started me back in this hobby about three years ago. What I like better is the 2nd picture showing the FM Trainmaster. I’m getting ready to place an order for Lionel’s latest Erie-Lackawanna Trainmaster which is just about to be released. Thanks for getting me all primed up for it.

A few photo’s of the Shed County R.R.
This is the table, on the right a look from another angle and the way it’s mounted on the walls. No studs or legs, the table is hanging almost completely on the walls to minimize acces problems to the storage space underneath.
The wiring is in place (but still hanging loose, in case I’ve to add more wiring). The white knobs are switch trowers. I use bowden cables to trow the switches, but they are akward to route through the table. Instead of that I figured that an axle through the table which is connected to the thongue by a stainless steel wire will transfer the movement of the cable to the switch. It’s built in under the switch, so unvisible from above. It works very smooth. The white knob is the teflon bearing which is glued in the table to route the axle and make movement easy and without play.
This will later on shield the city from the desert. On the right side a mountain tunnel will hide the shield, on the left side a building and viaduct will fit the shield into the scenery. The shield itself will be painted in the same color as the backdrop and will have the same function on both sides in the scenery. This way I can built completely different landscapes without interfering with eachother. (I have to use some tricks to make a small layout interesting…)

The local LP distributor is getting a delivery via the new Atlas Gulftane car.
This area isn’t finished yet but I wanted to show of the new tanker.
Well howdy y’all. That ole Lionel GG1 and the passenger cars were definately a treasure. How’d you acquire them? Also the San Diego layout is pretty good. Daan your layout seems to be progressing slimingly.

Thanks Bogaziddy. It is a long story has in how I got it. My wife works at a local pawn shop and does all of its *bay sales. I called her up on New Years Eve 2001 to find out what time she was getting off and she told me one of the guys had just brought back some Lionels to be listed. She told me the car numbers and right then and there I told her to find out what they wanted for them and bring them home. She came home around 3:00pm and told me I owed her $75.00 and go get them out of her car . I have tested other stuff forthe store (mostly new items), and I about fell over when I saw them. The only real thing wrong with the engine is the fact that the sound box is missing. So I guess that I really can’t say that this is my greatest find but a great find by my wife.

Love that Gulf oil refinery or storage area. I haven’t been on forum too much as I’m so busy doing construction; thought I’d share some photos; not O but the previous 3 photos in this post are all toy train O.
Here’s my first time doing live steam on temporary grass track yesterday morning. It’s still breaking in so didn’t get too far with this first run (less than spectacular):
Removed my Mexican Heather, as I discovered after buying it it hates cold (first photo; replaced it with little ruby mums (2nd photo)). It is the closest I could come to Mexican Heather’s violet look.
planted some mosses along the rocks; watering them a lot
Built my first gauge 1 switch. It actually was a multigauge switch but changed my mind and filled in the spike holes with exterior wood filler. Keeping the 2 scales separate. OK, so I got lazy and used a door latch for switch stand. Took about 3 hours to build.
Great pics guys. See Cheif, if you had your tracks off the floor, you might have a lovely young thing pop up thru your layout.
John, The BL-2 belongs to one of our OTTS members. In fact that is his layout.
