Greetings Folks,

While my major focus of collecting recently has been Pre War American Flyer Trains; I also have a collection of Gilbert American Flyer S gauge trains. I thought I would share some photos of my S gauge trains and layout. Remember, after the war Gilbert’s emphasis was on realism and more scale looking trains.

In S gauge I like the realism of both their steam engines and diesels

Although, I have to admit that the steamers are truely my favorites.

I like to lay my head down close to the track and get a good look at the detail on the engines. Notice the “real two rail track” that Gilbert switched to after the war.

Here’s a few MTH diesels:

Here’s my latest 2 railing project

I am very pleased to announce we had another visitor from the CTT Car Exchange arrive recently. It was the Ann Arbor participant from the local line located in Michigan. The unique car came from Kurt’s pike. Given the economic conditions across the country this car was on a trek headed for the west coast, and assisting those whom had fallen from economic stability to a life of distress and looking for a way of gaining better control of their life.

Even thou the intentions were well placed, once the car had arrived in California, the local politicians determined that it was best if the car and its collection of “misfits” would be isolated on a remote siding. (The persons that had gathered were only guilty of not making adequate political contributions to the local liberal party.) The siding selected was not considered with a great deal of prudence or safety in mind. It was located adjacent to a Fireworks stand as well as an Operating Oil well. The vagabonds were naturally trying to preserve some basic amenities, and built a campfire while being detained on the siding.

Unfortunately, the campfire began to grow. As it was the seasonal humidity and temperatures were at the peak of the “Red Flag” warning stage. The Fire hazard was at the greatest. The campfire was rapidly growing out of control.

Being somewhat unaware of the severity of the potential condition, the men initially did not seem overly concerned. And the situation quickly grew out of hand.

Paul that fire looked very real! Enjoyed drama.

Only thing missing was Kevin Tighe and Randy Mantooth…

Hey Laz…Wonder why it is that in my neighborhood the only thing sthat comes around on a regular basis is the Ice Cream Truck. Kids can’t wait for it to get here most days. Picture all the adults standing on the curb waiting for this one to arrive daily! Talk about a reason for neighbors to get to know one another! Hmmm…wonder what the village comissioners would have to say about this![%-)] Guess we better ask the Chief!

Great pics all. Ray loved that video especially the Pa. GP’s

STROGEY, LOL!!! That would be great! Which bringds to mind, my wife saw a ice cream truck like a Mr. Softy, instead they were selling tacos in Harrisburg, Pa. Go figure, must be the sign

Sure like that Truck, and the ball diamond ! Lots of really good pictures. I don’t understand why anyone would post: Edited, removed image

Great pics guys.

Greg - WOW Gilbert American Flyer really does look real! And your layout, incredible detal!

Jim

Chuck,

I don’t think any other comment is necessary. I don’t want to see the pictures of other guys zapped, because of this. I am going back to edit and remove the image I copied and posted.

Carumba. I see the moderators deleted my photos of layout building from the Sunday Photo Thread. Is this a new policy that you don’t want photos of train layouts? If that’s the case, maybe someone from CTT can give an answer regarding what type of photos does CTT want? I’ll put up a few more backdrop building photos just too make sure CTT doesn’t want any more layout photos.

Great pics everyone.

What happened to the original photos posted by Frank53. Who’s running this forum the gestapo or CTT?

What happened to Frank’s photo’s? Wanted to show them to the Wife. Was there something wrong in the photo’s?

What he said… Rampart this is Squad 51! http://dogwood.phpwebhosting.com/~tvshrine/Emergency/ebuzzer.wav
