Just some box cars on the layout.
I like the painting. They are nice and it’s a personal touch. The ones done by your wife and sister-in-law are they based on anything. The smokebox looks like a D&RGW engine. I’m much younger. My Mom doesn’t paint but she excellent at counted cross stitch. She’s done several train related ones in the last 25 years. Plus my aunt did a large (12"x20" or so) counted cross stitch years ago. Well Grandma and Aunt Sarah. Grandma bought everything and Sarah did the work. Mom has done one masterpiece for my 2 brothers and I. Mine is the last. One of my brothers favorite animal as a kid was tigers. Mom did an 8"x10" (roughly) white tiger on black material. Looks great. The one that will be mine is a D&RGW 4-4-0, tender, coach from the side going over a wooden trestle with trees on either side and behind. She did a similar one but different scale, engine tender and several cars on a trestle, from a pattern she bought when we took a camping/train riding trip to Durango in '86. Mom also did some logos when I was younger. Chessie System yellow on blue material and Amtrak for my brother. A San Francisco cable car for Dad. Mom and Dad lived in the Bay Area the first several years they were married. We’ll celebrate 35 years in January.
Not really Sunday, but yesterdays fun. I got a phone call from my craigslist list ad, and someone was looking to sell their father’s “Marlines” trains. Man did I ever get lucky!
