Sunday Photo Fun 10-21-07

Wow, I can’t believe that I am starting this off. I am usually still in bed when it reaches page two. lol Here are my York finds.

A 127 station and people

My new 262 (restored)

railfan23 - Hey, those are some very nice pieces. And nice to meet you Friday. Stop by more often, and maybe I’ll let you wear my “ears” for awhile…[tup]

It was great to meet you fifedog, and everyone else at York. It’s a deal with the ears.

Here is Holloween at The Western Resserve Model Railroad Musuem ! [4:-)]

Nice pictures everyone !! Here’s some progress pictures of my latest project under one of my bridges. Not nearly done yet but I’m thinking of just some grass & dirt & maybe some trees under there.

This was where I started.

Sort of rolling hills .

Thanks, John

heres y progress on my shelfs of trains the top shelf is going to go around the room as a loop so I can run my trains when I get it done.

Great pictures everyone. Railfan23, the station looks great and I really like the 262. Great restoration. Spankybird, the Halloween town is great. I’ve never seen the the Haunted Funhouse before. Csxt30, looks like a lot of progress. Rtraincollector, keep posting, I’m very interested in putting up some shelves myself.

Although I didn’t go to York, I finally bought and finished fixing a prewar 258 engine and tender. Here she is coming around the corner.

I also got a new camera and some filters. Not sure I like this one, but thought I’d post it anyway.

Finally, an overview of the layout.

As always, look forward to more pictures.

Great pics guys - John, you got more done since last time! Really coming along! Love that Old Time Tinplate too guys! RT, do those right angle brackets alone hold up the shelves?

Finished up expanding GW Dunn & Sons – which is two sides of one building kit tucked in the corner against the dryer vent:

Extended a mirror image of teh backdrop to the balance of teh wall:

used a scan of the blank wall to make the vent an extension of the building:

Great pictures, Guys.

John…That bridge scenery is coming along nice.

Frank53…As always, great looking buildings. Love your tubular track.

Chuck

Hmmmm…let’s “reflect” on this. Something doesn’t look quite right with the ice signs. And there seems to be an east AND a west wind blowing that smoke. [tup][tup] [(-D]

Nice stuff as usual! [;)]

I’m second or less . . .

ENVFOCUS,

That is one nice tinplate layout! My interest in tinplate is getting stronger each day. [tup][tup]

Good afternoon,

railfan23, Nice looking tinplate. Also it was a pleasure to meet you at York. Don’t forget to stop by the coffee pot now and then.

Spanky, Really nice halloween pictures, Brutus will love those.

John, It is nice to see they left you off work long enough to do some layout work and post some pictures. [:D]

RT, I hope you are going to put a guard rail along that shelf ! [:O] That would be an awful long drop.

Well I started out at York, looking for a nice tinplate set, as I don’t own any at present, but then this item popped up and Roy talked me into buying it.

I really like it, of course it is a static display item. You can move the various features with a key. A lot of the det

Spankybird: Nice buildings!

csxt30: Beautiful bridges! Scenery is ocmming along nicely! Any pics of that girder bridge you’ve been working on?

Frank53: Mirror Image works! Scale looks great too! Amazing Greyhound billboard! You’ve greated a great variety of textures.

jefelectric: Awesome shovel!

Kurt

Thanks everyone for the nice comments on my project !!

Kurt : I sort of got the Hee-Bee-Gee-Bees & removed that bridge thinking the Atlas single bridge would really look better there, towering high above the rest of the layout !! Here’s a picture of it before I removed it though !!

Here’s a picture with the Atlas one in its place now.

Thanks, John

This building has been bugging me and I wanted to do something with the signage:

I had a couple of old cigar boxes my Dad had used for storing parts, etc in:

I had recently picked up on of these pre-cut wood lettering kits for a billboard, so I decided to make it a Cigar Factory - home of the eight cent Muriel Corona:

I scanned “Muriel” from the box and did marginal job of cutting out the oval. This is attached to a slatted wood back:

I thought the emblem would give the sign some extra clout, as it centered up well in front of the center section peak behind it:

In place on the factory. This really needed something as I was never really happy with teh way that roof came out:

Frank53, I love that sign. You have real talent!
